In 2015 Stüssy released the sixth volume of its biannual publication. This edition marked the brand’s 35th anniversary and, as a result, the company wanted to embark on a new direction for the biannual design. The project brief included a wholesale redesign—moving away from the broadsheet format to a smaller publication size, and devising a typographic grid system that would accommodate a variety of editorial content. Volume six served as a foundation for future iterations of the biannual and required a deep exploration of typographic style, layout systems and design principles. The result is a 96 page, saddle bound book celebrating the community that shaped the brand over the years and a design direction for the years still to come.
